What we do.

Solid Timber

Also known as strip flooring, or tongue and groove flooring, it is the classic choice which never goes out of style. Solid timber comes in a wide array of thicknesses, widths and lengths. It can be direct stick-glued onto any level subfloor such as concrete, particle board or plywood sheeting, or installed using the traditional methods over joists and bearers. The installation can also be customised to create high-end designs. Available in a wide range of timber species, from Australian hardwoods to European oaks, along with multiple options for stains and polish finishes make solid timber the most customisable choice.

Bamboo

Bamboo flooring is a popular alternative to solid timber flooring because of its cost, durability and eco-friendly properties. Bamboo is a fast growing and regenerative grass, which is cut down into strips, or strands, and dried and machined into planks. Bamboo flooring is available in three different construction types, and varying colours and finishes. It can be floated over any level subfloor such as concrete, particle board, plywood sheeting or over existing timber floors. Bamboo flooring comes pre-finished and can be walked on as soon as installed. The construction of the product means it can also be refinished when required.

Engineered Timber

Providing the look and feel of solid timber with the convenience of a pre-finished product. As the name suggests, engineered timber is a real timber product engineered to perform. Engineered timber comes in a variety of colours and finishes. Various designs can be created based on the board size. It can be direct stick-glued or floated over any level subfloor such as concrete, particle board or plywood sheeting, or over existing timber floors. It can be walked on immediately after installation and due to its multi-layered construction it can be refinished, or restored, similar to solid timber.

Laminate

Laminate flooring provides the visual appeal of real timber for a fraction of the price. Core layers of high density fibreboard and a photographic wood texture are topped with multiple coats of clear, durable protective resins. Laminate floors are available in an array of finishes, lengths and widths. Offering more resistance to stains, wear, impact, scratches, burns, fading and household chemicals than other timber options, laminate flooring is a highly practical choice for those still wanting a timber look. It can be floated over any level subfloor such as concrete, particle board or plywood sheeting, or over existing timber floors. It can be walked on as soon as installed.

Parquetry

A classic and timeless style that dates back to the 16th Century, parquetry is an elegant and luxurious choice for both heritage and contemporary homes alike. Parquetry comes in both solid timber and engineered timber options, ensuring that the benefits of each can be enjoyed respectively. A wide range of timber species, colours and finishes can be selected and achieved. It can be laid in endless patterns, from timeless herringbone, brick pattern or chevron, to custom designs and borders, the design is limited only by the imagination. All of which make parquetry one of the most adaptable flooring choices available.

Vinyl

The three main types of vinyl flooring are vinyl flooring roll, also known as sheet flooring, luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) and luxury vinyl planks (LVP) Vinyl is 100% plastic and is predominately made of multiple layers of fibreglass and PVC, including a print layer and design layer covered in a protective wear layer and a polyurethane coating. Vinyl is far softer underfoot compared to other flooring alternatives. It is highly resistant to stains, wear, impact, scratches, burns, fading and household chemicals. Vinyl also offers waterproof solutions and high resistance to moisture and water damage. The design layer is made to look like any material and offers endless design possibilities.

Carpet

Renowned for superior noise-reducing and insulating properties, carpet is a comfortable and beautifully tactile option for many areas. Carpet comes in a wide array of textures, styles and compositions to suit any application from residential to commercial spaces. The four main piles available are Plush, Twist, Level Cut Loop and Loop Carpet, and each one is offered in synthetic or natural fibres. The colour options are also endless and completely customised designs are also available. Carpet in broadloom, or wall-to-wall format, is the most common choice for residential or low traffic areas. While carpet tile provides a great option for commercial applications or any area that requires durability. Carpet tiles are an extremely cost-effective, durable and practical flooring choice, and being modular, can be individually replaced in the case of damage.

Restoration

The restoration of solid timber and engineered timber floors involves a varying degree of specialised services. Every restoration project is different and requires careful consideration. The type of installation and the existing floor finish are also considered. In situations where the existing sub floor is covered in carpet, vinyl or tiles, these will need to be removed first. Often involving stripping old adhesives, nails and any other materials stuck to the floor. The examination of existing sub floors, supporting timbers and any existing termite, water or fire damage is then undertaken after which we will determine the best course of action. Once the source of the damage is eliminated and the repair of the sub floor or supporting timbers is completed, the new floor covering or flooring can be installed. Or, in some instances, the existing timber floor can be repaired. In cases where the floor is to be replaced with a glue-stick, floating floor or carpet and vinyl, the repair of the sub floor may involve grinding and levelling to ensure a level and consistent finish. In cases where there is a partial repair required to a timber, bamboo, laminate or vinyl floor the right product can be sourced and matched in seamlessly using expert techniques. If the solid timber floor is particularly old, it may be a rare species and requires expert identification and machining to ensure a perfect match.

Sanding and Polishing

Over time timber flooring can begin to look tired and worn out. Finishes start to fade and damage can be caused by everyday life. Sanding and polishing can have many timber floors looking new again. This service is also completed when installing new solid timber flooring. Our highly skilled trades utilise the latest technology in sanding machines and the highest quality dust extractors and hand tools. The sanding and polishing process differs depending on the type of installation and timber floor. Often restoration work is required on older floors. If a floor has been top nailed all nail holes are punched and filled individually. The floor is then sanded back using varying grit levels depending on the finish required. A final buff is then completed, again using varying grit levels, to ensure a perfectly smooth finish. A thorough clean is performed and any gaps will be filled. The natural colour of the timber can be altered at this stage using floor staining techniques and products. The timber floor is then finished by applying a natural wax, penetrating oil, solvent or water based polyurethane finish.
